GIFT OF THE ALTAR (GNANAPITA AWARD):

Akilan

There are only 2 writers who got the ‘gift of the altar’. One is Akilan and the other is Jeyakanthan.

Akilan got the award for the  book ‘ Chithira paavai’  . he also got the   Award of ‘Sakithya Acadamy ‘  for his  Hitorical Book   by name ‘Venkaiyin Mainthan’.

Jeyakanthan also got the award not for any particular book, but for his total share in the Tamil Literature.

Bore both these, Rajaji’s Chakkaravarthy Thirumagal’ got the award . but it is not Gnana pita parisu but it is ‘Sakithya Acadamy’ .

In 1975 Akilan and in 2002 Jayakanthan got I the awars.  In 1958, Rajaji got the Saskithya Akadamy award. This award was given for Chakkaravarthyy Thirumagal’  which narrated Ramayanam in  simple way.

So, booh ‘Chithirap Pavai ‘ only got  the ‘Gnapita ‘award to Akilan.
