HOW TO REACH THIRUPATHI ?
Trains, Buses and Flights to Thirupathi
Devotees can reach Thirumala by Air or by surface. Air facilities and train facilities are available from various destinations to Tirumala and vice versa. . . Road cum rail and Rail cum road (RCRT) facility is arranged for the passengers going to Tirumala Hills and for the passengers leaving from Tirumala Hills. Passengers can exchange their rail cum road tickets at S.V. Bus stand for bus tickets to go to Tirumala Hills. Likewise passengers can purchase road cum rail tickets and board the bus without exchanging the tickets. The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation, (APSRTC), Karnataka State Road Transport (KSRTC), and Tamilnadu State Govt. are running luxury, deluxe and hi-tech and Volvo buses from important towns in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamilnanu to Tiruppathi and Tirumala. The APSRTC runs buses from Tirupathi railway station to Balaji Link bus station, Srinivasa Bus Station to Kanipakkam Sri Kalahasthi and Kanchi frequently. It also runs buses to Tiruchanur and Srinivasa Managapuram.
Prepaid Taxi to go to Thirupati Thirumala
Apart from this, Prepaid Taxi Services are run by Tirupathi Traffic Police. Pilgrims can contact the prepaid taxi stand outside the Tirupathi Railway Station. The contact number is Tirupati Police Station, Tirupathi -0877-2289011. Private vehicles having more than 12-seater capacity are not allowed to Tirumala. They have to park their vehicles at the parking places near Alipiri Bus Stand and board RTC buses from Alipiri Bus Station. The passengers’ luggage will be checked at the Alipiri Checking point. The checking staff will give receipt which has to be shown at Alipiri Toll Gate.

Many pilgrims vow to go on foot from Alipiri to Tirumala through foot path. Pilgrims can use free facilities and bath at Pilgrims Amenities Hall at Srinivasam Complex, Opp. RTC Complex, Tirupati, and 2nd Choultry near Railway station, Tirupati and Bhudevi Complex, near Alipiri Bus station . TTD runs free buses from Railway Station, Tirupati to Alipiri. Pilgrims are requested to keep their luggage in suitcase or bag under lock and key. They can deposit their luggage at the Alipiri footpath luggage centre and obtain a receipt from there. They can collect their luggage after submitting the receipt at luggage collection centre, Tirumala .their luggage is transported free of cost.
Who can travel by foot along Alipiri path to Thirumala?
Pilgrims suffering from chronic illness like BP, Heart and Lung diseases are advised not to climb up the hills on foot. There are 3350 foot steps from Alipiri and the distance is 9 km. from Alipiri to Tirumala. Drinking water and toilets are available all along the foot path. Pilgrims are advised to go in groups and avoid going on foot between 10.00 p.m. and 4.00 a.m.
